To kick off the business promotions, one business in town is donating 10% of gross sales to the Key Club on the second week of December, 2000. So please patronize this business on the second week of December, 2000. Below is a view from inside the business.

"Who are these children?" you ask. I didn't know there was a daycare center in downtown Kilmarnock. The kids look so content and happy. Where is this business?

Here is the Key Club web team in a room full of furry animals. Have you ever seen so many cute bears? They are all sizes and shapes, dressed in cute costumes. The business owner, pictured above in a maroon shirt is Brenda Shirah. Did you guess the business. It is THE DOLL HOUSE.

Brenda is a true craftsman. Not only is she a very active and hard working member of the Board of Directors of the Kilmarnock Chamber of Commerce, she lines up the crafters for all of the chamber special events. So, next time you see crafters selling their wares, spinning wool, and the like, remember that these people are skilled artisans, members of guilds. They are fascinating people!

Here, web team member, Michele Burtner show a Christmas ball with a little hand made bear inside. This is such a cool place to shop! Mrs. Shirah describes her craft while you browse. It is so interesting! These aren't toys and dolls mass produced. They all have character. They look so life-like! Each has a personality. Some are limited editions. Crafters from around the world have their work at this unusual shop. The shop is called THE DOLL HOUSE. It is located next to the Kilmarnock Museum, next to the municipal parking lot downtown.

This doll is an exact resemblance of the buyer's child. The doll are beautiful. Come in. Starting now, all merchandise is 10% off to kick off the extended merchant shopping hours. This is the perfect place to Christmas shop.

The public can buy children gift certificates. On Christmas, the store doesn't sell. There is an annual tradition, where the children bring in their certificates and select the doll they want. When we mean select, we don't mean pick it off of the shelf. No, the hair is selected and cut (depending on boy or girl). The clothing is selected. It generally takes a couple of hours, and the children have a cherished experience they'll never forget!

There is a "birth certificate" card, where the owner receives a birth certificate from Rappahannock General Hospital for the birthday of the doll. Each doll gets a toy to play with. After a year, the DOLL HOUSE sends a birthday card to the owner to give to the doll.

This place is a delightful, must-come shopping place for everyone, adult, teen, child, and grandparent! So come visit this wonderful Kilmarnock Chamber merchant - especially during the second week of December. Tell them you want a cut to go to the Key Club!
